Avoid Accidents

With so much activity going in our homes every day, there is always a possibility that something can go wrong. With the kids off to school and maybe a young one up in the crib and a ton of house work, a respite from your pet dog is a welcome relief. Its only when they are gone for hours or worse, its the reason for the squealing brakes and the loudest thump you can ever hear followed by a yelp so heart wrenching. When reality sets in and you realize its your pet dog you were so relieved to have a break from would let 'what if's' flood your mind.

Home pet containment has not been recognized fully as a preventive measure for accidents. Most containment devices are aimed to just keep your pet dog where you want it. Accidents are not scheduled or a seasonal event, to be able to pinpoint an accident doesn't make an incident such. Pet accidents in the home or outside all come so unexpectedly that the need for prevention is realized after the fact.

Accidents at home

It would be so ignorant for a pet owner not to expect any accidents in the confines of your home. The incidence of pet poisoning through anti-freeze ingestion/ poisoning or a bad fall are most cases pet dogs are reported to be victims of accidents. Some accidents can also be caused by seemingly harmless things around the home, often surprising the owner when proclaimed by the vet.

Electric fences have been developed to not only keep your pet on your property but to keep them out of home 'hot spots'. These 'hot spots' are the basement, play room, child's bed room. Trips to the basement can make your pet dog come into contact, inhale or ingest poison that can kill it. Numerous pet dogs have gone under operations to remove several small pieces of toy or a small sized toy.

Pet containment aids in preventing accidents. A unit contains a wall transmitter that is signaled by a pronged collar worn by your pet dog. By putting the pet containment transmitter by these hot spots, your pet dog is able to receive correction through the collars by means of ultra-sonic sound only heard by the dog. When trained, your pet will be able to recognize several 'No Way' places efficiently without any risk of being attacked sonically.

Accidents around the lawn

Its a pity for anyone to see their beloved pet thrown a few feet from the accident. Even more traumatic is when you can't offer your pet dog relief. Our border collie mix got hit and run, even with a veterinarian as a neighbor she wasn't able to save my precious Hush. Being there for the surgery lifted my hopes up, but after the operation his body just couldn't take the trauma. He hemorrhaged and died as I held him.

Pet fences were just new in the US and very much unheard of in our part of the world. The old pet fences were very crude and didn't offer the safeguards and standards for today's dog fences.

Pet dog fences come in Above-ground and In-ground models. They are purchased including a transmitter, dog collar, a hand-held regulator, a spool of wire, ground staple wires and training flag markers. Included in the kit is a manual to properly wire your property.

This device keeps your pet in view and within your property. The device works by having the collar around your pets neck, if he gets near the boundary you set, a warning sound will signal your pet to back-off. In case your pet still goes closer, he will receive a mild correction, all dog fence devices have safety measures. The goal is to teach and correct your pet, every piece of the dog fence set is researched, developed and manufactured to keep your pet secure, safe and happy.

In retrospect, if only pets and their safety are not taken lightly, a high percentage of pets would still be around today.
